That was a strange bit of theology, Penric noted. "Where I'm from, supplications aren't commonly granted. Though often asked. When one has little other recourse, one appeals to the gods." And someone in the temple should notice and see if something could be done regardless if there was a direct answer. Far easier to use the mundane connections between people than for the gods to nudge things one way or another.
