To be entirely fair to Halsin, Vesper seemed weird in general. The fact he rose from shadow was not too appealing to her either, and she could understand why a man who suffered through the shadow curse might hesitate.

But Halsin was strong. Resilient. He faced danger head on despite his reservations. Night Sky loved him for it — loved him for a lot of reasons.
